Mike Rad – American actor, writer, director, producer, comedian, and acting coach, born and raised in Brick, New Jersey. No publicly recorded birthday. He holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and trained with Uta Hagen at HB Studios in New York before moving to Los Angeles, where he studied with Warner Loughlin and performed with The Groundlings, Second City, and UCB. His most notable film roles include Rand in American Splendor (2003, opposite Paul Giamatti and Hope Davis), a role in Shoot 'Em Up (2007, opposite Clive Owen), The Nanny Diaries (2007, opposite Scarlett Johansson), Cinema Verite (2011, opposite Diane Lane), and The Revenant (2015). He has also written, produced, and starred in several award-winning short films including I'm a Cat (2017) and Game of Chicken (2016). On television he is best known for a series regular role on Prime Time Glick (Comedy Central, with Martin Short), a recurring role on the sci-fi series Special Unit 2, a major vampire in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2002), a serial killer in Walker: Texas Ranger (2001), and more recently Them: Covenant (2021, Amazon Prime) and The Shrink Next Door (Apple TV, with Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd). He is also a stand-up comedian and one half of the comedy team Zip Gun Boogie, and currently coaches acting in Los Angeles.
