Your account

You need to be at least 13 to have an account. Keep your password to yourself — anything done from your account is treated as done by you. One person, one account; don't impersonate anyone.

What you post

Your reviews, photos, lists and messages stay yours. By posting them you give us permission to store and show them inside EverRated — that's it. We don't claim ownership and we won't license your writing to anyone else. Delete something and that permission ends, apart from copies we're briefly required to keep for safety.

Only post what's yours to post. Don't upload other people's photos or writing as your own.

What's not allowed

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Content that breaks these rules is removed, and the accounts behind it are suspended or banned. We aim to act on every report within 24 hours.

• Hate speech, or attacking people for who they are.
• Harassment, threats, or organising pile-ons.
• Sexual content involving minors, and any content that sexualises them. Reported to the authorities, always.
• Spam, scams, bought ratings and vote manipulation.
• Posting someone's private information.
• Spoilers without the spoiler tag. New reviews start tagged; switching it off is your call, and so is what follows if the review gives something away.
• Scraping, automated account creation, or hammering the API.

Swearing is fine. Spoilers are fine if you mark them — that's what the spoiler tag is for. Untagged spoilers get removed, and repeat offences can get an account suspended or banned.

Moderation

Posts and messages are screened automatically for hate speech and spam, and anyone can report content or block another user. We can hide or remove content, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. We try to be proportionate: a first offence usually means a removed post, not a ban.

If we get it wrong, email us and a person will look at it. We'd rather fix a bad call than defend it.

Ratings and the catalogue

Posters, cast lists, release dates and other catalogue information come from third-party providers and belong to them. Scores on EverRated are opinions from members, weighted to resist review-bombing — they're not facts, and we don't guarantee any of it is accurate.

Premium

Premium is optional and adds cosmetic and convenience features. Billing isn't live yet; when it is, prices, renewals and refunds will be handled by the App Store or our payment provider, and their rules apply on top of these.

What we don't promise

EverRated is provided as-is, while it's still being built. It may break, lose data, or change without warning. We don't promise it will always be available, and to the extent the law allows we're not liable for losses that follow from using it. Keep your own copy of anything you'd hate to lose — the export is there for that.

Ending it

You can delete your account whenever you like, from Settings. We can close an account that repeatedly breaks these rules, and we'll tell you why when we do.
